Supervised Living Programs

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that at least 5.3 million Americans have long-term or lifelong needs for assistance in performing the activities of daily living as a result of a traumatic brain injury. Each of them is unique, with their own strengths and challenges. 21st Century Living Services has developed a variety of programs that are designed to meet the individual right at the point of their greatest need.
One such program is our Supervised Living Program which is located within a community living residence in Gallatin, Tennessee. The goal of this program is to provide the client, family, and case manager with a recommendation of the client’s ability to live on their own. In some cases a long-term residential program is better suited to an individual’s needs or abilities.
All of our programs seek to respect the individual’s unique mental and physical abilities and encourage an independent lifestyle. Our aim is to pair treatment with an environment that promotes autonomy, dignity, safety, and personal growth. During an initial period of re-orientation, character building, and behavior modification, strategies are developed in conjunction with attendance in our day service treatment program. Clients are provided 24 hour supervision in this setting, and can move into the long term residential program if it is deemed appropriate.
Clients in the Supervised Living Programs receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cognitive therapy, psycho-social counseling, reality orientation, music therapy, nutrition counseling, money management, and behavior management. They also receive medical check-ups at least twice a year.
